Since I was about 13 years old, I have wanted to be a teacher and a coach. I have worked in education for more than 30 years. During that time, I have taught and coached at the middle school and high school levels and have been an assistant principal.
My wife, Trish, is the superintendent of the Brinnon School District. Trish and I have three sons. Our oldest, Chase, has a PhD in biochemistry from Washington State University. He and his wife, who also has a PhD, live in the Skokomish Valley. Our middle son, Beau, has a masters degree in school administration, like his parents. He and his wife, a medical doctor, live in Oklahoma. Our youngest son, Hayes, is a 2017 Quilcene High School graduate and will graduate from George Fox University in 2021 with a degree in accounting. Trish and I have 7 grandchildren.
I enjoy living on the Olympic Peninsula where I can go shrimping, crabbing, and walking in the woods.
