EMERGENCY WEATHER SCHOOL CLOSURE AND SNOW ROUTE INFO

During the upcoming winter, months there may be certain weather conditions that will require school delays or closures. Every family should have a plan covering what to do when children arrive home early due to early closure of school. Below are television stations you can listen to between 6 am and 8 am if you feel the weather may create hazardous traveling conditions:

TV STATIONS: KING 5, KIRO 7, KOMO 4, KCPQ 13

You can also login to www.flashalert.net go to local news/Seattle-Western Washington – Clallam and Jefferson County Schools-Quilcene SD, this site will show any delays or closures.

Please do not call the school. Jammed telephone lines only compound emergencies. No announcement means normal operations.

If the announcer says “Snow Routes”, the following bus schedules will be in effect:

LINGER LONGER/US HIGHWAY 101 S./FISH HATCHERY ROUTE: The bus will not travel up to Hiddendale. Students need to be transported to the Fish Hatchery Road and will be picked up by the Big Quilcene Bridge.

DABOB/COYLE ROUTE: The bus will run only on the Dabob-Coyle Road. Students on any other side road must come to the main Dabob-Coyle Road.  Hazel Point Road and Comm. Center will be picked up at the Fire Station. The bus will go no further than the Coyle Fire Hall.

EAST QUIL ROUTE: The bus will travel to the  intersection of East Quil Road and Lindsey Hill Road. McInnis road will need to meet bus at intersection of East Quil rd and McInnis.

US 101 NORTH/LAKE LELAND/LORDS LAKE LOOP/SNOW CREEK ROUTE: On the north bound trip the bus will travel US 101 only. On its return trip the bus will travel US 101 only. Students on West Leland Valley Road can be picked up at the Faith Farm turnoff on the return trip. Students on the Lords Lake Loop Road or Snow Creek Road must come to Highway 101 for pickup.

PLEASE KEEP THIS INFORMATION WHERE YOU CAN REFER TO IT THIS WINTER IF NECESSARY.  THE DISTRICT WILL ATTEMPT TO KEEP THE BUSES ON SCHEDULE AS MUCH AS ROAD CONDITIONS PERMIT.
