This week we celebrate our teachers, and how much we appreciate all they do for our kids and for our community.
It is without a doubt that we appreciate our teachers, and I am hopeful that each teacher in our district knows that I, the board, and our community is thankful that you, our teachers, are here, working with our children. This week is a chance for us to be more specific about why we appreciate your work, who you are as people and professionals, and that you have chosen Quilcene as a place to make a difference for kids.
Let me start by sharing my appreciation for the incredibly dynamic and difficult task it has been to teach this year. A world-wide pandemic is a tough time to work in any job, but to have to rethink your entire way of interacting with your students, redesign your systems to accommodate a shifting landscape of remote and in-person learning, and still be present and supportive while dealing with the personal impacts of COVID. Every day. Teaching is by far the most challenging and rewarding job I can think of, and my appreciation for all of you who persevered and are still student-focused and committed to improving the conditions of learning for all of our learners is impossible to capture in an email.
Teachers, know that I appreciate you, as do our students, staff, board, and community.
To the community, I encourage you to also weigh in on why you appreciate our professional teachers and the difference they make for our kids and community,
Frank Redmon,
Superintendent
