You know your student and family situation better than anyone else, which makes you an integral part of the learning team! As such, you will be able to create a plan with your PEARL teacher that is a custom approach to your student's learning plan. 

This custom approach can include modifying course pacing to better suit your student and consider alternative learning goals for accelerated students or those needing remediation. Additionally, PEARL can offer consistency and support for students who are part of demanding sports teams and performing arts groups or for those dealing with health issues. 

PEARL is able to provide the academic resources needed for your student to learn from home throughout the year as part of a public school. After choosing curriculum with your PEARL teacher, our office staff and library will work together to order the needed materials and send them to you. At the end of the year, you simply return the materials at no cost. 

It can feel overwhelming when considering all the instructional resources available to you as a home learning family. PEARL teachers work hard to provide you with knowledge and resources to learn about the various curriculum options as well as guidance as you make those decisions. PEARL teachers keep the following in mind as they make suggestions: 

• student learning style
• ages, stages and number of children
• your home environment
• your preference on the use of technology in your student's learning
