In her position, Faye faces a variety of situations daily that would enable her to quickly turn towards the path of negativity. Nonetheless, she approaches every day and each situation with a smile and an attitude that enables the kids she works with and adults around her to also be positive.
Faye is an incredible communicator, often times paraphrasing what was said either verbally or in an email. She has used the Google spreadsheets with fidelity to track student behavior and communicate follow through.
With her growth mindset, she has approached professional development with fervor, and has then taken what she's learned and used it to directly improve student outcomes.
Simply put, Faye has been a huge positive factor since first arriving on campus, and we wanted to recognize her as such.
Congratulations and thank you for all that you do, Faye!
Ms. Snyder routinely goes above and beyond with her commitment to build positive relationships through extracurricular involvement, including coaching multiple sports and chaperoning several dances; however, the most prominent reason she was chosen is because of the level of engagement in her classroom.
Despite students being packed into the room like a sardine can, the level of student engagement I’ve witnessed time and again in her classroom is nothing short of stellar. Through a number of techniques and personalization of learning, she has created an environment featuring various means of learning and assessment and met each student educationally where they were at. In doing so, she has created learning experiences with openings for all students.
As you see her around , please congratulate Ms. Snyder for her dedication and commitment to all students!
Second Firewood Opportunity Offered at Falls View Campground on March 6th
The Falls View Campground will be open for a second firewood collection opportunity on Friday, March 6th from 8am-4:30pm.
Gatherers must possess a valid firewood permit issued by the Olympic National Forest.
This second opportunity is being offered in response to interest from the community and to lessen the amount of debris needing to be removed. The ongoing hazard tree removal and campground restoration project within Falls View Campground made significant progress in 2019. The diseased trees leading to the campground’s closure in 2016 have been removed. The campground now contains large slash piles and downed trees that need to be removed before work to restore the campground can start.
For information on how to obtain a permit, please call the Quilcene Ranger Station at 360-765-2200.
Forest Service staff will be on hand to ensure compliance and answer questions.
Thank you!
The Quilcene School Board of Directors approved the 2020/2021 School Calendar at their board meeting held on February 19th.
