Eryn Brown-Munn, a student at Quilcene K-12 School, served as a page this week in the Washington State House of Representatives. Sponsored by Rep. Mike Chapman (D-Port Angeles), Eryn is the child of Paul and Sarah Mahan of Quilcene. Pages assume a wide variety of responsibilities, from presenting the flags to distributing amendments on the House floor. Pages support the efficient operation of the Legislature while also receiving daily civics instruction, drafting their own bills, and participating in mock committee hearings.
This week Chuck Johnston, Maintenance & Grounds Technician, was nominated as the employee of the week. His dedication to his job during the days that we had snow, clearing sidewalks and parking lot has not been unnoticed. Also in keeping the boilers operating when we had no heat in the Elementary. When you see Chuck out and about give him a big thank you!
The Washington State Board of Education would like your feedback! The Graduation Pathway Options Stakeholder Feedback survey is linked here. If you are a high school student, or a parent of a high school student, please complete this survey to help the State Board understand the impact of the new graduation pathways for Quilcene and Brinnon students.

On behalf of the Quilcene Board of Education and the Quilcene School District, I would like to thank the Quilcene community for entrusting us with your most precious gifts. That you have approved both the EP&O Levy and the Capital Levy tells me that you value the work that we do with your children every day. It also says that you trust our dedication to ensure your tax dollars are being used as efficiently as possible to maintain a safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environment for kids and community.
